 Organizations for Children of Addiction (COA)

The National Association for Children of Addiction.

NACoA is a national not for profit organization created in 1983 to address the impact parental addiction has on children and families. They partner with federal agencies, private sector groups and other nonprofits for policy and program development, addiction research, prevention, treatment, and resource dissemination.

Eluna Network.

The mission of Eluna is to support children and families impacted by grief or addiction. They provide resources and programs to address the critical needs of children experiencing powerful, overwhelming and often confusing emotions associated with the death of a loved one or addiction in the family.

Sesame Street In Communities.

Sesame Street has a 50 year history of caring for the developmental, physical, and emotional needs of children. Their latest contribution is the ‘In Communities’ which focuses on resources for tough topics like parental addiction, trauma, divorce, grief and more.

Resilience.

Fostering resilience in children includes understanding the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), including addiction in the home, has on children, as well as recognizing the powerful benefits Positive Childhood Experiences (PCEs) have on overcoming childhood adversity.

For 36 years The Refuge has provided a safe, caring, and therapeutic environment to assist in the recovery of survivors of domestic violence, rape, sexual assault, and stalking. Its goal is to facilitate healing and to advocate for victims with the intent to decrease the incidence of such violence in the community.
