Because growing up in a home with addiction issues is difficult.

Children deserve resources that help them navigate loving a family member with the illness of addiction.

Our Mission

To decrease the adverse impact addiction within the family has on children and increase stability for families in early recovery.

You can be ok.

Children need to know that whether a parent gets healthy or stays stuck in addiction they CAN be ok.

And…

Families recovering from addiction CAN and DO get better. It just takes time, effort and support from outside resources.

Free Workshops

The Seven C’s Workshop Series is geared toward children ages 3-12 and primary caregivers. This evidence based program uses fun and play to help children cope with addiction in the family including an understanding that they aren’t alone, a parent’s addiction is never their fault, and they can be ok.

Scholarships

The Essential Need Scholarship Program awards small grants for families in early recovery to cover certain critical needs. We believe alleviating appropriate financial burdens increase stability in the home, making the environment feel more secure for children.

Just for kids!

If you know a child from a home with addiction issues, we’ve got a recovery community just for them! Focused on fun and support, it includes monthly activity downloads, and online art projects they can observe or actively participate in. It’s a space where “Riley Kids” learn that you’re not alone, you are part of our team!

Tools for Caregivers

Whether you are a biological parent, “for now” parent, or another caring adult, we want to provide caregivers with the resources they need so support the kids they love! Research has shown that there a lot of things adults can do to lessen the adverse impact parental addiction has on dependent age children.

Other Programs

In addition to our workshop and scholarship programs, each year we provide families impacted by addiction with other sources of support as well. Those struggling financially during the holiday season can apply to our Sub for Santa program. Children of addiction (COA) ages 3-12 that need help accessing certain extracurricular activities, including special interests or hobbies, can apply for a scholarship through Hattie’s Fund.
